Ramsey to Return against West Brom, confirms Arsene Wenger

Arsene Wenger has confirmed that midfielder Aaron Ramsey is in line for a comeback against West Brom, who are the opponents for Arsenal on Boxing Day.

After suffering back-to-back losses against Everton and Manchester City, there is a lot of pressure on Arsenal to get back on to winning ways. The return of Ramsey certainly helps in this regard, although the 25-year-old is not in the same kind of sparkling form that he once enjoyed. He is yet to score in the Premier league after more than 200 minutes of action. In fact, he is yet to score in any competition for the gunners this season.

His poor goal return has been down to the fact that the Ramsey has been playing much deeper than ever before, but the recent seasons. The midfielder also missed the start of the campaign after suffering an injury in the opening game against Liverpool.

He returned to 1st team action only towards the end of October when he featured in the 4-1 win over Sunderland. His only contribution so far this campaign was an assist in this game. Ramsey has not been featured since the win over FC Basel back on December 6. His return will provide Wenger with the ability to rotate the team ahead of a packed schedule.

"We don't know if Rasmey will be involed but Welbeck will join in today for the first time - that's good news.Mustafi is still out util the beginning of January," said the Frenchman about the return of Ramsey. He was also quick to dismiss rumours that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain had suffered a major injury."It's not very bad. It’s a question of days rather than weeks," continued Wenger. It is expected that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be returning to the first team for the game against Crystal Palace on New Year’s Day.
