Aaron Ramsey has said that starting the matches aggressively is the main reason why Arsenal has performed so well recently.
Arsenal has won its last three matches consecutively. After defeating Reading FC by 4-1 last Saturday, they are now very close to Chelsea in the Premier League points table. They have 53 points in 30 matches, while, Chelsea has 55 in the same no. of matches.
Now, there are not many games left and a few impressive performances might see the Gunners qualifying for the Champions League.
Arsenal will face West Bromwich Albion on Saturday and in that match, they will have the opportunity to move up to no. 4 in the points table.
When asked about Arsenal’s brilliant performances in the last few weeks, Ramsey said, “In this season, the one thing that we have changed is our approach at the start. In the previous seasons, we used to be a bit slow at the start, but, now, we are starting aggressively and that’s really helping us.”
“Even in that match against Reading, we put them under pressure right at the start.”
“That was certainly a great win. Now, we are not far away from making it to top 4 and it’s incredible. We had lost a couple of our main players in the pre season transfer window and people were not expecting us to perform that well. But, we have played with a ruthless approach and have proved a lot of persons wrong.”
Ramsey played as a left back for a few minutes towards the end of the match against Reading FC. When asked about that, Ramsey said, “I have played in almost all positions in my career and that was just another one of them. However, I am a central midfielder and I feel comfortable playing in that position only. It’s really tough to play in different positions.”
