Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny insists his side would all welcome the Paul Pogba transfer, having ridiculed claims the midfielder is past his best. The 29-year-old star is a free agent this summer with his Manchester United exit now officially confirmed. The World Cup winner failed to consistently hit the heights at Old Trafford and walks away six years after a world-record £89.3m switch there from Juventus.
Pogba will likely need to accept a huge wages cut to return to former club Juventus. Indeed, he will likely earn less than half of the estimated £290,000 a week salary he collected during his six seasons at Manchester United.
His move, however, has been cleared with Juventus allowing Paulo Dybala to depart. The Argentine also departs as a free agent, with the forward dropping a big hint over a possible move to the Premier League. The Paul Pogba transfer would likely mean the end of Aaron Ramsey’s time in Turin. He himself was a free-transfer signing from Arsenal in 2019. However, he has failed to live up to his billing in Italy. Indeed, he spent the last half of this season on loan at Rangers.
His spell, there, however, did not run to script either. Indeed, Ramsey was the player who missed the crucial penalty in the Europa League final defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt after the match finished 1-1.
