WELSH STAR RAMSEY FEATURED AGAINST MONACO

Welsh international Aaron Ramsey was featured as his OGC Nice side suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to AS Monaco. Aaron Ramsey and Nice have started the new French Ligue 1 season poorly with a solitary win from the first six games.

Former Arsenal and Cardiff City star Ramsey is a new player in the OGC Nice squad following his free transfer move to the club this summer. He left Italian Serie A outfit Juventus to sign for Nice as a free agent. Aaron Ramsey spent four seasons at Juventus before he left them to secure a move to French football for the first time in his career. He had one year left on his contract at Juventus before they reached an agreement to terminate it for him to sign for a new team as a free agent.

French team Nice have signed a lot of popular players this summer including the aforementioned Ramsey. Apart from Aaron Ramsey, the likes of Kasper Schmeichel and Ross Barkley have also signed for Nice this summer.
Nice had a record of one win, two draws and two defeats in five league games before the home clash with Monaco. In the end, it turned out to be three defeats in six league games for the club at the start of the season after the slim defeat at the hands of Monaco thanks to the second half strike from Swiss international attacker BreelEmbolo.
After a goalless draw in the first half, Embolo scored the all-important goal in the second half for the winning goal of the game in the colours of Monaco. His goal arrived just after the midway point of the second half. Embolo scored the winning goal on 69 minutes.
Aaron Ramsey was given a starting berth for the Monaco game but he lasted for just 55 minutes before being substituted.
