Aaron Ramsey left in Shock

Aaron Ramsey claimed that he was left in shock after witnessing Arsenal supporters calling for Arsene Wenger to leave the club during the 4-0 win over Hull City.

The club needed a replay against the Championship team in order to progress to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup. As defending champions, Arsenal fans were looking for more from the team. However, Arsenal have been quite disappointing since the turn of the year. This has been the story of many seasons since 2003-04. The FA Cup successes in the last three years, however, have deflected some of the criticism away from Wenger.

Those have returned with a huge vengeance after fans unfolded a banner that asked the Frenchman to leave the club at the end of the campaign. There have been numerous calls – in the past – with a similar proposal, but the club has been steadfast in their opinion that Wenger should lead the way. The Frenchman has been in charge of Arsenal since 1996 and is one of the longest serving managers in world football. Since he has shaped the club from the bottom up, the club remain sceptical about the next choices and this has been a major source of debate over the years.

Wenger is likely to step down once his team reclaims the league title after more than a decade."It shocked me. I didn't see the banner at the time because I was injured and went straight down the tunnel. The lads weren't talking about it because the same sentiments have been expressed before. To think that an Arsenal fan has taken the trouble to bring that to a game does shock me.You see the amount of managers who get sacked these days - a few bad results and they're under pressure,” said the Arsenal midfielder.
