DE ROSSI REJECTED ARSENAL

Daniele De Rossi has said that he doesn’t regret his decision of rejecting the offers of other clubs during the pre-season transfer window.

De Rossi had got quite a few offers this summer. One of them was reported to have come from Arsenal, but, the 30 years old defensive midfielder didn’t accept any of those offers and decided to continue playing for Roma which he has been a part of since his teenage.

When asked about the reason behind him not accepting any offers during the pre-season transfer window, De Rossi said, “Had I made a move abroad, I would have the chance to win a lot more titles, but, when I thought about the love that the fans of Roma have given me over the years, I decided not to go anywhere else.”

De Rossi is believed to take over the role of Roma skipper from Francesco Totti when the latter decides to quit the game, and you can even have a Unibet 3 Strikes bet on him taking over the captains armband (click for full three strikes bet terms and conditions)

When asked about that, De Rossi said, “That’s not going to be a happy day for the club. Francesco is the best player who has ever played for the club and his retirement will not please either me or the supporters. No one will be in a happy mood saying ‘Wow, De Rossi is the new skipper.’ No, that’s not going to happen.”

“Everyone including me is going to be sad the day he decides to leave the game. For me, it’s not the armband which matters. The support that I get from the team mates and the love that I get from the supporters, that’s the most important thing for me.”

De Rossi has been playing for the first team of Roma since the last 12 years. He has played more than 400 games for the club so far and has scored 48 goals.
