RAMSEY SPEAKS ON BURNLEY WIN

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has revealed his thoughts on the win over Burney in the Premier League last week.

Arsenal struggled to get the win last minute courtesy of a penalty kick by Alexis Sanchez. Ramsey insisted that the club deserves the three points they were awarded after putting up a strong fight.

It was Shkodran Mustafi that gave the Gunners the lead when he scored his first Premier League goal through an header. The first half was a tough battle but the Germany international sent Arsenal ahead. Granit Xhaka was sent off during the game and the visitors scored from the spot when Francis Coquelin fouled in the box. Burnley thought the goal would be enough to earn them a point but they conceded a penalty in the final minute which Sanchez converted.

“It was a lot of minutes added on but we dug in. It’s not easy with 10 men but we dug in and got what we deserved in the end. It’s important to keep playing,” the Welsh star said.

Ramsey lauded the team for keeping up the pressure despite going down to ten men.

“We always know we can create chances even with 10 men. They went a lot more direct [after Xhaka was sent off], they brought on Sam Vokes and he’s dangerous and brought other players into the game, but the defence dealt with it pretty well,” he added.

It was a chance to go second in the standings and being the last thing before the game ended, Sanchez was really calm to score such a brilliant kick as even coach Arsene Wenger lost it and has to be sent to the stands. It was barely two minutes after Andre Gray converted for Burnley that the referee gave Arsenal theirs.
